Wrought Iron Boutique Interview

Name of your website?

Wrought Iron Boutique

Your name?

Al Kozak

Your Location (city, etc)

Maple Ridge

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Over 300+ artistic wrought iron products that will add to your home decor.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I had previously visted our supplier on a holiday and bought over $500 worth of their product. It looks great in our log home or would also suit a modern home. The opportunity arose for us to create a website to market their products worldwide.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

April/07 www.wroughtironboutique.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Wrought Iron describes the product and Boutique describes a speciality store.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Each product is hand crafted by a skilled artisan. They are not mass produced. The founder of Kootenay Forge....John Smith is an incredible artist.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for income

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Have bot yet recovered all costs.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

More high quality pictures to illustrate the quality of the workmanship and a more aggressive marketing program to establish our brand and product on the internet.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes....our supplier has over 150 retail shops and is capable of meeting the demand. Our orders flow through to them and they ship the product.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Time and effort to build a website with over 300 products....took longer than expected.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Convincing viewers of our website that our product is high quality and is much superior to the products coming from India and China.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Pay per click

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is what I expected...I have been in the technology sector for 30 years.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Up for aobut 6 months....plan to keep it up indefineatly at this time.

Replace this with a question of your own

Why does google place so much emphasis on links as opposed to key words and website content.

What is your website address?

Wrought Iron Boutique
