I find most computer desks to be terrible, for several reasons. They are often made of fiberboard or other material that will basically disintegrate if it gets wet, are poorly made, and too small. That also tends to be way over priced for what you get. Back in the days when I sold computers I had a deal with a carpenter to hand make real desks out of real wood with keyboard tray and cpu holder. The price was slightly more than the fiberboard junk. Nobody wanted them, even though you got a lot more for your money including more workspace and a real piece of furniture. On of my favorite computer desks is to two, two-drawer filing cabinets with a door on stop. You get space to organize your stuff and a great sided workspace. Recently I needed a new computer desk and I like a plain desk. No keyboard tray. No cpu holder. No stupid widgets to get in the way. Nothing to help me organize. Just a clean smooth working surface. Shown in the photo here is a nice dining room table I found at the outlet department of a local furniture store. It set me back under $40 and really didn't have any defects other than a leg that doesn't quite match. Tags: computer desks • dining room table • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
