Leather Care, Repair & Restoration Interview

By Interviewer at 09/06/07 02:38

Name of your website?

Leather Care, Repair & Restoration

Your name?

Paul Ford

Your Location (city, etc)

South Canterbury

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This site shows people who have leather upholstery how to keep it in top condition. Lounge suites, autos interiors . . . the method is basically the same. Most people feel completely lost when it comes to leather care, so this site makes it real simple. If your leather is cut, scuffed, damaged or just plain tired, you'll see how easy it is to have it restored to its original condition. I've included plenty of photos so it's really easy to understand.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Being in the leather industry for many years, I was constantly asked the same old questions over and over again by people who wanted to know how to look after their leather upholstery. So rather than lose my voice, I created this site which does all the explaining for me.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

How did you decide on a name for your website?

People were always asking for help with their leather so I figured that would be a easy to remember URL.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

When I first wanted to create the site, web designers I talked to didn't understand the meaning of the word "SIMPLE". So, I enrolled in a course in website building, and put it together myself.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Communicating with programmers and designers. They seem to have their own language and most of them were asleep during the day!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Mostly through word of mouth throughout the furniture and auto industry.

What is your website address?

Leather Care, Repair & Restoration
