www.beds.sg is an online mattress and beds store based in Singapore. Our products include various brands of well known mattress in Singapore, bedroom furnitures and more than 50 different bed designs. We provide free delivery to any location in Singapore and we can fulfill our deliveries within 1 working day.
What inspired your to launch an online ecommerce website?
Through much background research, we realized that many furniture buyers in Singapore rate the following as very important in their purchase desision.
1) Convenience in Purchasing 2) Risk free 3) Low price 4) Recommendation from peers before final purchase 5) Quick delivery
So we figured out that the only way to fulfill the above needs was to create a website that allows users to purchase at low prices, read reviews before purchasing, pay upon delivery and process the orders within 1 working day.
When did you launch the website?
We launched the website on June 2006. Since then, we have never looked back and focus on fulfilling every single customers and keeping them happy.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name was pretty straight foward. We wanted something that could relate what we are selling and of course, the name have to be short and memorable. We made a domain search, realized that www.beds.sg was available and took it immediately.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We have only goal is to remain the No.1 mattress and beds store in Singapore for as long as we could and continue to make our customers extremely pleased having bought from us.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I think time = money and vice versa. Overall, we had spent countless sleepless nights trying to make the site a success. Well, everything is on track now, and I have to say that every effort is worth it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I will keep increasing the product range in the website. And also, I will look into having a 3-dimension product presentation of every product.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, we have backup servers and planning to purchase a few more trucks to fulfill the deliveries.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Well... It is the SEO, I have to say. I initially thought it was a small issue, but then I got dragged into it, and some how i got obsessed and started spending alot of money on it.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge so far is to keep thinking of new ideas to bring extra value to my customers.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Nothing and everything. Every method is useful and has its own merit. I believe the most important factor is keeping the right balance with the budget you have in hand.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Actually, nothing much.... because I have run a few website prior to this, and nothing much differed
