When Cheap China-Pine is Okay

If you need furniture, and you're the sort of consumer that can't stomach hand-me-garbage furniture, it isn't all bad to shop at Ikea. But if you're broke, like I've been so much of my life, you may not be able to afford the full she-bang of those brilliant Swedes. Your local department store, like Target, Wal-Mart or others, may have the same sort of stuff, but even cheaper… it's okay, just so you know.

The stuff is utilitarian, and although it's only 90% as good as Ikea furniture, whom in that same ubiquitous heck would ever notice.

It's every bit as durable, but usually cheaper and almost always closer to home. Ikea stores are big, so they can't be in every neighborhood.

It's all disposable either way, so don't sweat the details.
