Bar Stools and Chairs Interview

By Interviewer at 11/21/09 12:25

Name of your website?

Bar Stools and Chairs

Your name?

Matt Kennedy

Your Location (city, etc)

Chicago

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Bar Stools and Chairs sells restaurant furniture including restaurant bar stools, restaurant chairs, and restaurant counter stools.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am very familiar with commercial furniture and wanted to bring it to the masses.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The first website I launched was Bar Stools and Chairs.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted to have the main keywords for my products in the url.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We offer free shipping and sell our diner chairs individually instead of in sets.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To continue growing the business.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have learned so much that it is hard to put a dollar value on the experience.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would make it so you could see what each chair looked like with the different color combinations.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We deal with large established manufactures. There is no order size of volume that we couldn't handle.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

It is sometimes hard to get accurate ship dates and tracking information from vendors of commercial furniture. They are not used to pleasing a residential customer.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Achieving good search engine presence.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Google Adwords and organic optimization.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is a real pain to add new items.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I will run the site forever. Or at least eventually pay someone to run it.

What is your best selling product

We sell a lot of the licensed NFL logo bar stools.

What is your website address?

Bar Stools and Chairs
