What, exactly, is a dinette set used for? It is too informal for a fancy meal or gathering but is more intimate than a regular meal at a table or restaurant booth. But if you’re looking to design a restaurant or want a smaller eating space at home, a dinette set can be a better option for dining than a large table and chairs set.Dinette sets come in two varieties mix and match and matching dining sets. The difference is self explanatory; a matching dinette set often has the same wood or metal work for the table and chairs, while mix and match pairs chairs with a table that blends in by color, design, or type of material used. Often, a mix and match set will have a standard metal and glass or wood table paired with a more elaborate-looking set of chairs.
