In a previous blog post, one of my fellow writers told us about his life living with wide spaces. The contrary is quite true in my case, so allow me to give you some perspective.
I cannot count how many times we have lived in different houses all over the metro, though most of them have been concentrated in one place. We owned only one house until my parents sold off this after a very strong storm that flooded our place and somewhat traumatized them. Since then we only rented the places where we lived in because my folks and my aunt, who lives with us, were afraid that something terrible would happen again.
Most of these homes are single homes with a garden and backyard, usually a few square meters in size. It's just your typical middle-sized home. We didn't want to live in an apartment home smashed right in the middle of the city, as we also valued our peace. We almost always lived in the suburbs, where the only sounds we could hear are probably the barking of the dogs, bicycles passing by, or the occassional car passing by. As far as peace is concerned, nothing is left to be desired.
As for the interiors of our home, we've always picked wood as the material of our choice over anything else. That translates to wooden sofa sets, wooden desks, wooden tables, et cetera. If I would make the choice, I would want to go with metal and glass and go for a modern-looking home. I am not really a fan of wooden furniture, but since these ones are the cheapest around, we had to go with them.
Furthermore, like what I also mentioned in a previous post, the house is pretty cramped with old furnitures that my aunt has accumulated over the years, so space is something really lacking here, quite the opposite of the previous writer. Well at least it's a happy home that I can live with until I start off with something new.
