wroughtironboutique,com Interview

By Interviewer at 10/22/07 22:31

Name of your website?

wroughtironboutique,com

Your name?

Al Kozak

Your Location (city, etc)

Maple Ridge

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We provide over 300+ hand forged wrought iron products incuding kitchen, dining, bathroom and home accessories.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I had previously purchased a large number of products from our supplier and was delighted when the opportunity arose to market their products on one of our on-line stores.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

April 2007, www.wroughtironboutique.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

A name that suited the product line and included key words.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The artistic design and quality of craftsmanship. As a previous customer before we built the website, I had thought our supplier had the best wrought iron product line that I had seen.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for income

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Although we have previously reached page 1 of Google for several products, our conversion rate is still lower than we would like for the time and effort that we have put in. Results continue to improve.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Better photos for some of the products, increase quality links, more effective advertising campaigns.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None

What has been your biggest challenge?

Working with a large product line and creating hundreds of product pages, collecting images etc

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

pay per click

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Our product is extremely high quality and competes with many inferior products on the internet. Most internet buyers are looking for "deals" and "lowest" prices.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We have no plans to discontinue the site in the future at this time.

How does your product rank with the competition

It is more expensive, but extremely good quality and artistic design.

What is your website address?
